IMAmotion: Concept Design, Media & Construction

We set worlds in motion.

Your brief names a world. IMAmotion designs it, produces the media for it, and builds it — in whatever combination your project needs. One team, from the first story session to opening day.

Founded on story

IMAmotion was founded in 2014, five years after IMAscore began crafting audio for theme parks and film studios. Those five years produced something useful beyond the music: a deep understanding of how stories work in physical space. Initially dedicated to visual media production, it was re-founded in 2022 with the bigger picture in mind. We zoomed out to focus not just on how stories look and sound, but on how they're built. IMAmotion started with that understanding and turned it into a design-and-build capability.

The difficulty is that most themed experience projects are built by relay. A concept studio develops the story. A production house handles the media. A construction company builds the environment. Each handoff makes a creative call the previous team never agreed to. By the time the first guests walk in, the story from the first session has been revised into something safer, simpler, and less surprising.

IMAmotion was built to hold the story through. Concept design, media production, and physical construction under one roof means the person who developed the narrative in month one is still in the room when the themed surfaces go up in month eighteen. No relay. No revision by proxy.

The world in the first sketch is the world guests walk into.

That holds for everything we've designed, built or staged: like Donnervind at Freizeitpark Plohn, Jaderpark's Ziegelblitz, or the horror mazes Final Stop and A Quiet Place at Movie Park Germany. From the drawing to the wall, the story stays.

What we build

Four disciplines. One team. The story runs through all of them.

Masterplanning, Storytelling, Architecture

Concept & Schematic Design

We develop the concept through construction-ready documentation — master planning, key visuals, 3D renderings, architectural and technical drawings, and every approval the build requires. TÜV-standard engineering included. The design intent is protected from the first sketch through construction handover.

Film, Animation, Projection

Media & Experience

Every screen and projection surface in a themed environment is a storytelling decision. We produce the content in-house: film, animation, projection mapping, Pepper's Ghost effects, pre-shows, and safety briefings guests will actually watch.

Technical Design, Coordination, Implementation

Theming & Construction

The physical build is where a concept either survives or doesn't. We theme and construct in wood, steel, concrete, and paint: patination, wall effects, show and lighting technology, scent design, and specialist partner coordination through opening day.

Surprises, Lighting, Audio

Special Effects & Staging

Practical effects developed from first engineering concept through trigger programming, show sequencing, and site calibration. We design and build them in-house, which means no idea arrives too bold and no budget too small.

The world sounds like itself too.

The most complete projects we make are the ones where IMAmotion and IMAscore are on the same brief. The acoustic theming develops alongside the physical environment. The score mixes for the space being built in parallel. Guests hear the world before they fully see it, and that only happens when both disciplines are in the room from the start.
